MAC Address Vendor Lookup

Identify the manufacturer behind a MAC address from its OUI prefix.

How to use this tool

Paste a MAC address in any format (aa:bb:cc, aa-bb-cc, aabb.cc). The first three bytes (the OUI) identify the manufacturer. This page includes common CCTV, networking and server vendors; randomized (locally administered) addresses are detected and flagged.

Worked example

Prefix 3C:EF:8C belongs to Zhejiang Dahua; a MAC whose second hex digit is 2, 6, A or E is locally administered (often a phone using a private Wi-Fi address).

Frequently asked questions

Why does my phone show an unknown vendor?

Modern phones use randomized per-network MAC addresses, flagged by the locally administered bit.

Can a MAC address be spoofed?

Yes, easily. Use it for identification, never as authentication.

Where does the OUI list come from?

The IEEE registry. This page ships a curated subset focused on IT, networking and CCTV vendors.
